THE APIARY

Kate Douglas is a writer, composer, and performer. Her work includes THE APIARY (NY Times Critics Pick, Outer Critics Circle Awards nomination), TULIPA (New York Stage & Film), IF I FORGET THEE, O EARTH (2024-25 The Next Forever Commission Recipient, The Civilians/Princeton University), and WONDERLAND (Finalist, Jane Chambers Excellence in Feminist Playwriting Award). Her work has been developed at SPACE on Ryder Farm, New York Stage & Film, Millay Arts, Rhinebeck Musicals, and the Writer's Colony at Goodspeed. She is an alumna of the Dramatist Guild Fellows, The Civilians R&D Group, and Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project.

Summer is a founder of Urbanite and Producing Artistic Director. Urbanite directing credits include the regional premieres of MONSTERS OF THE AMERICAN CINEMA, SCORCH, ATHENA, DRY LAND, BIRDS OF NORTH AMERICA, NORTH SIDE HOLLOW, SPACEMAN, world premiere of WESTMINSTER. ​Regional Credits include: Asolo Repertory Theatre, 1st Stage, Vashon Repertory Theatre, Florida Repertory Theatre, Mad Cow Theatre, Cumberland County Playhouse, Dog Days Theatre. Intimacy Coordinator work includes, INTIMATE APPAREL, BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROL KING MUSICAL, ANNA & THE TROPICS, DIAL ‘M’ FOR MURDER, (Asolo Repertory Theatre). 

Terri Weagant is an actor, director, producer, and dialect coach based in Brooklyn, New York. She has performed on stages across the United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico, and the Czech Republic with companies including Play On Shakespeare, Asolo Repertory Theatre, and Urbanite Theatre.

On screen, she was seen in the Amazon show MOZART IN THE JUNGLE and the films A JAZZMAN’S JAZZMAN and HOW TO GET LAID. Terri is a producer of the documentary ABOVE THE BAMBOO ROOM and has taught at Cornish College of the Arts, Brooklyn College, and NYU Playwrights Horizons Theatre School.

She developed THE SET—Actor Coaching, for artists and their patrons to encourage and uplift performers in their practice. Christie holds an MA in Theatre Performance and Research from FSU, where she wrote and produced her original musical THE SHARK LADY, also playing the titular role of Genie Clark. She completed the first two years of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training program, where her favorite experience was playing Beth in JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN.

Originally from Beijing, Christie has roots in Boston and Manhattan, where she has performed regionally and Off-Broadway. Her favorite professional credits include Tong in VIETGONE (Company One Boston), swinging all 9 players in THE WOLVES (Lyric Stage Boston), & originating the role of Mary Cheung in GIRL POWER SEX POSITIVE JOYRIDE (SheNYC Festival).

Ariel Blue is an actor, singer, and writer, and has performed as a featured vocalist in Connelli Circus in Switzerland. A well-known member of Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (FL), Ariel was recently featured in the Know Women (Sarasota) magazine. Stage credits include FENCES, FLYIN' WEST, SISTAS IN THE NAME OF SOUL, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, DREAMGIRLS, AVENUE Q, THE WIZ, A MOTOWN CHRISTMAS, and THE AMEN CORNER.

She has produced three of her own one-woman shows and has performed with the Florida Studio Theatre Improv. Education: Stetson University with a major in communications and a minor in theatre. Find her original music on all streaming platforms under her name. IG: @simplyarielblue.
