Dike

by Hannah Benitez

Directed by Tatiana Pandiani

Co-Producers: Maurice Richards & Jack Kesler

Associate Producer: Len Goldberg & Maureen Gebhardt

November 9 – December 16

After two years of separation, a pair of sisters from a religious family reunite to navigate the murky waters of identity. The reunion sends four millennial women into a struggle for clarity with their most significant relationships; those with God, those with lovers, those with family. An awkwardly hilarious and wrenching exploration of love, sexuality, and sisterhood, Dike questions the walls religion and social conditioning build in us.

"Impressively staged by Tatiana Pandiani and performed by a well-matched quartet of actresses, DIKE stirs a lot of feelings about how family relationships can be impacted by religious beliefs."

-Sarasota Herald-Tribune

"To say that Urbanite Theatre is off to a strong start this season would be a serious understatement...Dike shows off Urbanite at its best. "
-Talkin' Broadway

"A steamy, thoughtful play...You get a sense of their messy lives unfolding. And the beautiful illusion that it’s all unrehearsed."
